Have you ever felt going through the following dampeners?

  • You are so worn out by work that the last thing on your mind is exercise.
  • Do you feel lethargic at times and just don’t want to do anything?
  • Do you ‘drop’ into sleep and get up weary and tired in the morning, without an ounce of energy?

The above mentioned problems are extremely common and is primarily due to energy levels. Reasons for feeling low on energy are due to three factors:

3. Genes
2.. Diet and finally the most important one,
1. Stress

Stress is the biggest offender for low energy levels. If the mind is aroused due to stress, the body releases a vast amount of adrenaline and insulin which can make you run for as long as you want. However if you do not make fruitful use of this energy, the adrenaline rush will travel through your veins, redirecting the energy from important bodily functions. The result is you end up feeling floppy, rejected, and depressed for most part of the day. Here are some of the energy boosters to make sure this does not happen and you are at your best every time:

Kickstart your day: Begin your day drinking a hot cup of water with a squeeze of fresh lime juice. This will perk you instantly, arouse you taste buds in your tongue and cleanse your liver.

Power Breakfast!Gorge on this power packed energy diet: For your breakfast, include a banana, a ripe mango, a medium sized pineapple, milk or a cup of low-fat yoghurt. Fruit can give you instant energy. A pizza or pasta may make you feel satiated and sluggish while a diet of fruit will have you on your feet. That is the instant difference, you notice between fast food and fruit.

Essential oils:Spill some drops of essential oils like eucalyptus oil or peppermint oil in a handkerchief or tissue and inhale deeply. This can also make you feel perky and energetic.

Drink water This is a favorite cliché of most people but it is so true. Drink water..8 to 10 glasses. Rather than go for artificial drinks or aerated soft drinks, insist on water. It cleanses your system, flushes out the toxins and increases blood circulation to the brain and different parts of the body. The result is you not only feel active but also keeps you glowing in confidence.

Try acupressure: When you feel sluggish, pinch the area between your thumb and the forefinger. Keep it this way for two minutes and then release gradually.
