GERD Diet-Foods to Avoid


You should know about the GERD diet or the foods to avoid that can make GERD symptoms worse. So, the foods that you should avoid include: alcoholic beverages, tomato products, chocolate, peppermint, fried and oil-rich foods, drinks and food that contain caffeine.

Since acid reflux is all about acidity, it is important to know that alcohol and coffee can actually make your stomah more acidic than it really is.  Also chocolate, fried and fatty foods can cause lower esophageal sphincter to lose its  tone. The causes of GERD are usually influx of stomach acid and weak bottom esophageal sphincter.

 GERD symptoms can become worse due to intake of foods like garlic, onion, carbonated beverages like soda, vinegar, spicy foods and mustard. Citrus fruits and juices can also increase GERD problems.
