Elbows look dark due to dryness of the skin, caused due to dust and heat, lack of personal hygiene etc. Here is how you can make your elbows fairer and remove the pigmentation
1.. Take a pumice stone and gently scrub away the dead skin on the elbows. Then apply a moisturizing cream or lotion on the elbows to prevent them from becoming dry and black.
2. Apply sunscreen lotion when you move out of the house during the days, so that the part of the elbow does not become dark and dry again.
3. Grind a handful of almonds with some milk and rub the elbow with this paste for about 15 minutes, and then wash off with water. Alternatively, you may also immerse a few walnuts in half a cup of milk during the night and crush them to a paste in the morning, and apply this on your elbows 15 minutes before taking a bath.
4. A very good and effective way of making dark elbows lighter in color is to rub the elbows with a thin slice of lemon for 5 minutes twice a day. The acidic juice of lemon has a natural bleaching property that makes dark elbows fairer.
5. You may also mix identical portions of yogurt and vinegar and massage your elbows with this mixture every day. This makes the skin of the elbows softer and lighter in tone.
6. Another home remedy to make elbows fairer is to mix two teaspoons of gram flour, a teaspoon of turmeric powder and some milk to obtain a thick paste. Spread this on the elbows and rinse it off once it dries out completely. This will make your dark elbows fair considerably.
